Starting as an orphanage in 1907, Lakeside has been serving young people for over 104 years. The program model has changed over time to meet the specific needs of children and teenagers, but the emphasis to reunite families still continues.
Today, the Lakeside campus is filled with teenagers who want to prepare themselves for a hopeful and engaged future. The peer driven model teaches respect, responsibility trust and giving. The open and trusting environment on campus creates a system of belief that problems can be opportunities for personal growth. Changes in behaviors, attitudes and values are expectations for all students within the group process. A more positive self-image, rational decision making and concern for self and others are primary outcomes for most students.
We enjoy visitors! Please stop in and meet our young men and women and take a tour of our beautiful campus.
