Lakeside Charter School
All students at Lakeside attend Lakeside Charter School on our campus. Authorized by Kalamazoo Regional Education Services Agency (KRESA), the charter school has its own independent school board and teachers who teach to State of Michigan mandated educational policies focusing on four core academic disciplines: English, Math, Science and Social Studies.
After analyzing the transcripts of an incoming student, the education department works to create an educational plan that follows the graduation requirements of the student’s home district. This process allows the courses that a student takes at Lakeside Charter School to transfer back to the student’s home district. Students may also earn enough credits during their stay at Lakeside to graduate from Lakeside Charter School. Indeed, several do, each semester. In addition to traditional coursework, students are also offered the chance to work toward the completion of the General Educational Development (GED) test.
